I Made This!

Have you ever looked at a craft and thought "hey!  I can do that!".  You rush to the craft store, spending tons of money on all the stuff to make this *cheaper* version of something you can just buy, the thrill of craftiness filling your body.

You get home, lay everything down, eyes filled with the promise of something awesome to come, only to say "What the hell was I thinking? I can't do this crap!"

Yeah.  I'm there.  I've had wooden letters for the girls rooms since before I was even pregnant.  Drama Tween still went by her first name, that's how long ago it was.  (For the record, she now goes by her first name at school.  Only the people she's super close to can call her by her middle name nickname)  Originally, I was going to paint them, but let's face it.  I'm lazy.  Super lazy.  If laziness was a superpower, I would be the most powerful superhero EVER.

Why did I suddenly come back to The Craft That Time Forgot?  I bought a new washer and dryer (you don't want to hear about that drama, trust me.  I don't think HH Gregg wants to hear about it either.  Sucks for them!).  Because of that purchase, we cleaned the laundry room and came across those letters again.  A light bulb went off in my head.  PAINT?  Why do something as mundane as PAINT.  That's sooooooo  2008.  Imma modge podge those suckers (which is sooooo 2009, but shut up.  My other superpower is being late to fads).

Yesterday was a nice eventful trip to the Lobby of Expensive Hobbies.  I got out with a small bottle of modge podge and 10 sheets of pretty paper picked by the girls for just under $12.00.  And yes, my eyes were filled with excitement.  Until I got home and wondered "What the hell do I think I'm doing?"

Here are the papers the girls picked out.  Drama Tween picked rocks because...  I don't know why.  I pointed out that it didn't quite fit, but her room, her choice.  Royal Princess on the other hand was after my heart with her choices.  I was shocked at her color choices!  Photobucket

I'll be sure to update if I ever get around to actually following through with the project... And because I can't pull out a camera without the Demanding Prince following me around until I snap his photo, here he is!
